What's New?

"Hi. I have been a very lazy quilter for the last few years, but used to do tons of it. Looking for some community and motivation to get going again and use up some awesome scavanged vintage fabric I've been collecting over the years. "
-
"Hi, I recently moved to the area. I enjoy sewing and have made one crib size quilt. It's machine pieced and hand quilted, which I really enjoyed making. I am at work on my second, a queen size double nine patch. I would love to meet some other qui"

"Greetings fellow quilters, I have scheduled two upcoming Saturday quilting sessions for 4/19 and 5/2. Please visit the Boston Quilters Meetup Group site for all the details. Please RSVP and email..."

"I am new to quliting. I have only quilted paper, if that counts. Would love to learn more. "
-
"Hi! I am new to quilting, and to the area. I have been a sewer for years, but I am excited to learn some new tricks and ways to spice up my time at the machine."
-
"This is at the DCU Center in Worcester on April 10, 11th, and 12th and it looks really cool! There's going to be a ton of classes on different techniques with a wide range of skill levels . . . maybe..."
-
"Greetings Fellow Quilters, I joined this meetup in an attempt to meet other local quilters. Up until now there has not been a lot of activity on the site for discussions or events, although there are..."

The poll "What kinds of meetings are you interested in?" was created today.
-
"I love sewing, landscape and applique quilting, machine embroidery and jewelry making"
-
"Lisa, Thanks for your email. It was nice hearing from you. Is there an event coming up for this group? I tried looking at the calandar but couldn't quite tell. Have a nice start to your St. Patrick's Day, Erika"
-
"Hi Nancy, welcome to the group. We would be interested in learning about you, your interests or any projects you are working on in the discussion board. Come share your thoughts!"
-
"Hi Kieran, welcome to the group. I have not yet tried any Landscape quilts but I have seen some amazing pieces at quilting shows. We'd love to hear about your projects on the discussion board."
-
"Hi Friederika, Craft projects are fun. What a great idea to recycle your dad's bow ties! I had a friend who made a quilt out of tie scraps and it came out beautiful, it was a colorful, rich piece once completed. I truly believe that anyone can quilt. I don't think that it is very hard to learn, but I guess it depends on what you pick for your first pattern. Feel free to ask questions on the discussion board, I'm sure there are many like you and many who would be happy to help you get started. "
-
"OK, so we've all got them. If not physically, we have ideas and visions that will perhaps someday become a reality. Tell us about your projects ... what are you working on? What are you planning? And..."

"Hi Tori, I've taken up the thread about machine quilting in the discussion board. Feel free to discuss, ask questions, etc. I'd be really interested in hearing about your " small "journal" type of art quilts". Perhaps you could tell me more about it in the discussion board? Also, I see that you are really active in many meet up groups, what do you enjoy most about them? Do all of them have regular actual meetings? I'm trying to plan a few for our group. Thanks, Lisa"
-
"This topic is being continued from a separate discussion, I'm interested in what others think and are willing to share: What are your thoughts on machine quilting? Have you tried it? With a regular..."

"Recently I became interested in doing more craft projects. I've been collecting my dad's bow ties (which he no longer wears) and thought it would be nice to incorporate them into a quilt. Also, I read a book that spoke about an organization which made quilts and donated them to survivors of domestic violence. Hopefully learning how to quilt isn't that difficult."
-
"I like to sew and have been doing a little quilting on my own. I am wanting to get into landscape quilting."
-
"Thanks for the welcome. I am self-taught though I could definitely use some actually "teaching." I have only tied my quilts together and could never quite figure out how to machine quilt. I tend to like more modern/art pieces, and am beginning to work on small "journal" type of art quilts and hopefully practice my machine quilting then. I look forward to meeting the group and learning from each other."
